DESCRIPTION:Through our diabetes support group\, our mission is to provide support to individuals living with diabetes and their families through education and friendship that empowers individuals to take control of their diabetes and enjoy a high quality of life. Each free monthly session covers a different topic and is open to anyone interested in attending and are held by our Diabetes Education Coordinator\, Krissy Mullenhour.\nGoals of Support Group:\n\nTo provide relevant education to help individuals manage their diabetes effectively.\nTo delay or prevent the complications associated with uncontrolled diabetes.\nTo provide a supportive environment where people with diabetes feel welcome and receive support from others.\nTo provide individuals an opportunity to share their experiences and coping strategies with others who have diabetes.\nTo increase public awareness about diabetes.\n\n\nContact Krissy Mullenhour at 419-394-3387 ext. 2147 or kmullenhour@jtdmh.org to verify dates\, times\, location\, and topic. DESCRIPTION:Support group meeting dates for 2025 are held every 4th Wednesday from 12:30-2:00 PM at the YMCA South Branch –Minster.\nPhysical and Speech Therapy exercise program offered every Wednesday for 15 weeks from 12:30-2:00PM. Registration not required\, walk ins welcome. Includes 45 minutes of physical therapy and 45 minutes of speech therapy.\nThis program is supported by a community grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation.
