Grand Lake Health System is pleased to announce this year’s recipients of the JTD Foundation Healthcare Scholarship. This scholarship is for current college students or adults enrolled in an accredited university entering year 2,3 or 4, studying in a medical-related field (outside of nursing). For example, physical therapy, occupational therapy assistant, certified medical assistant, medical terminology, etc. This is a $1,000 scholarship: non-renewable.
St. Mary’s native and current doctoral student, Kylie Tennant, has been selected as one of the 2026 JTD Hospital Foundation Healthcare Scholarship recipients. Kylie is currently pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree and will attend the Wright State-Boonshoft School of Medicine. Kylie aspires to participate in the Wright Rural Medicine Scholars program at Wright State University and return to Auglaize and Mercer counties to serve her community.

Karley Birt of St. Marys has been selected as one of the 2026 JTD Hospital Foundation Healthcare Scholarship recipients. Karley is currently a licensed physical therapy assistant and has been accepted into the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Findlay. Karley looks to focus her education on helping patients who have had a stroke. Karley plans to return to the Auglaize and Mercer counties to serve her community.
Celina native, Taryn Willrath, has been selected as one of the 2026 JTD Hospital Foundation Healthcare Scholarship recipients. Taryn is currently enrolled at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, pursuing a degree in Biology and Pre-Medicine. Taryn’s goal is to become a Hematologist-Oncologist and be involved in cancer research.

University of Cincinnati graduate, Elena Menker, has been selected as one of the 2026 JTD Hospital Foundation Healthcare Scholarship recipients. Elena is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the University of Cincinnati. After achieving her degree, Elena plans to return to the Auglaize and Mercer County area to serve her community.
