Grand Lake Health System has once again earned the highest overall score in its Ohio peer group in Anthem’s Quality-In-Sights: Hospital Incentive Program (Q-HIP®), marking the second consecutive year the health system has achieved the No. 1 ranking.
For the 2025 measurement year, Grand Lake Health System earned an overall score of 92.71, the highest among Ohio hospitals in its peer group of facilities with 100–199 CMS-certified beds. The score significantly exceeded both the Ohio median of 68.29 and the five-state Central Region median of 70.18.
Q-HIP evaluates hospitals across key areas of performance, including patient safety, health outcomes and patient satisfaction. Data from 443 hospitals across Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin were included in the 2025 program.
“Achieving this recognition once was an accomplishment. Earning it for a second consecutive year demonstrates the consistency and dedication of our entire organization,” said Cindy Berning, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our physicians, nurses, clinical teams and support staff share responsibility for creating a safe, high-quality experience for every patient. This result reflects the standards they uphold each day.”
Holly Jacomet, Vice President of Quality and Physician Practices, said the recognition reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to quality improvement.
“This achievement represents far more than a single score,” Jacomet said. “It reflects the daily work occurring across every department to prevent harm, improve outcomes, communicate effectively and respond to the needs of our patients.”
Dr. Lance Bryant, Chief of Staff, emphasized the collaborative effort behind the results.
“Strong performance across multiple quality measures requires coordination among physicians, nurses and the many departments that support patient care,” Bryant said. “This recognition shows what can be accomplished when teams consistently use evidence, data and shared accountability to improve care.”
Grand Lake Health System also earned the highest score in its Ohio peer group in Anthem’s 2024 Q-HIP program, with a score of 93.71. Returning to the No. 1 position in 2025 demonstrates the health system’s continued commitment to quality, safety and patient-centered care.
Grand Lake Health System will continue using quality data and performance feedback to strengthen clinical processes and identify opportunities to advance safe, effective care for patients throughout the Grand Lake region.
