Dr. James E. Kemmler is an experienced orthopaedic surgeon with over 30 years in practice. He completed his medical education at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, followed by a residency at the University of Illinois. He is committed to staying at the forefront of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine through continuing education, conferences and active involvement in medical societies.
Dr. Kemmler is the founder of Kemmler Orthopaedic Center and the Rehabilitation Director of Grand Lake Inpatient Rehab Unit, as well as the medical director or MoR Rehab and Ciao MedSpa. In addition, he runs his own consulting firm, James Kemmler, M.D. Consulting, specializing in medical-legal reviews. He has held numerous leadership roles, including serving as a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, board member of JTDMH Foundation board, Vice President of the founding board of St. Marys Art Center and holding positions in professional organizations like the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Kemmler is deeply involved in his community, with a passion for philanthropy and support for local sports teams, schools and various charitable organizations, co-founding Giving Thanks. He also supports international efforts like Children's Medical Missions, helping underserved children with orthopaedic issues in Africa and Haiti. In his personal life, Dr. Kemmler enjoys friends and family, art, cooking, music and outdoor activities like hiking and photography.
