Occupational Therapy Services
The Rehabilitation Department at JTDMH has a simple goal: To promote injury prevention and rapid recovery by restoring our patients to their fullest possible function in the least amount of time.
Whether you are recovering from a recent injury or accident, occupational therapy is here to help. By giving persons with new disabilities suggestions and adaptations on how to conserve energy, enhance comfort, and make their environment safer, occupational therapy works to help each patient return to an active, satisfying life.
Occupational Therapy is dedicated to evaluating and treating patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and developmental problems to increase their independence with activities of daily living and to reach developmental milestones. Occupational Therapy also specializes in upper extremity injuries to increase functional use and get patients back to working and living a full life.
Our therapists can utilize a wide variety of modalities and activities to assist in returning each patient to their optimal function. Throughout the treatments, patients are educated on their injuries or disabilities and Home Exercise Programs are developed to accelerate the healing process and return to independence with everyday activities. Occupational Therapy utilizes a function - first approach to treatment to return patients back to those activities they were performing prior to their injury.
